1: appalling reproduction qualirty
Having just got hold of "Renault in the thirties", I was pleased that here are few areas of duplication. Both books have the same cover photograph, bu there the similarity ends . The older books image sparkles with life and tone. This titles photographs are determinedly low key, to the extent that many images have large swathes of black, with shadow detail obliterated (unlike the older book). Nevertheless this is a fascinating episode in Doisenaus life, well recorded, and displayed here with a tantalising brevity .
