1: Marvolous hot and steamy
Drustan and Gewn are great together, I' not crazy about time stories but this one was great. The way Gwen found Drustan in the cave was funny. Him loving her right away and not keeping it from her through the whole book was great too. I hate it when two people love each other and hide it through the whole book it is aggravating to me. There is lots of sex and laughs to be had in this story. I thoroughly enjoy their romp through time.
It is worth the money and it is a keeper to read again and again.

2: Taking Hero from His Century & Sending Him to Present Day Doesn't Play Out Well
Diana Gabaldon got it right when she refused to allow Jamie Fraser to time-travel from 18th century Scotland to present day. It inevitably makes a fool out of the hero because he's at an extreme disadvantage and comes across as helpless and simple-minded.
Case in point-Drustan wakes up in present day Scotland and he's in this coffee shop and starts stuffing his pockets with creamers and sugar, and other items, because he believes EVERYTHING still belongs to him.
Another example - Gwen has told him a car is called a car, yet he keeps referring to it as a 'metal beast' or 'wagon.' And of course, when he first rides in the car he's scared to death, and I pictured him all scrunched up because of his massive size & height.
A hero shouldn't be scared of anything.
That aside, though, the story was very good. Drustan and Gwen were true soul mates. There wasn't a boring moment in the book.
But - another complaint here - most of the sexual innuendo [I'm not talking about the love scenes] the author adds is just too crude to be cute or romantic and unfairly turns a respectable heroine into a crass person, lacking in class.

3: So Terrible I Could Not Finish It
This book is so terrible, I vow to never read another of the author's books. No character development; the worst forced humor I have ever read; shallow, crude, vulgar. I am not a prude and read many romance novels but this is simply the worst. How funny is it for the heroine to be thinking he stuffed a sock in the crotch of his jeans?? That does not even merit junior high school humor.

4: Get me one of them Scottish Warriors
After starting the series with "Beyond the highland mist" I was delighted to finally read this one. I agree with the reviewer who said that the McKeltar books are the better ones and this one was fantastic. Tension started immediately from the very first moment the main characters met but not at all cheesy, mere convincing. The other family members are also very well described and play such an integral part in the story that it does not get boring. KMM was able to humorously capture the tenacity with which Gwen tries to convince the 16th century Drustan once she is thrown back in time and the way they find a solution makes complete sense and the timing is great. All to often romance novels are very clear from the beginning. This however makes it an enjoyable ready with all the twists and turns and the heroine being just utterly believable. I myself may have to go on a tour to Scotland and hope to get the key to a sleeping warrior.

5: Brilliant
I absolutely love this book, and no matter how many times I re-read it, the magic and romance never go away.
The narrator does an amazing job with the voices, accents and flow of the story. This is a must read and a must "hear."
