1: Thumbs Down
Not worth the money. Go purchase Rosetta Stone. This program makes no sense to me, no directions, nothing for someone who is TRYING TO LEARN SPANISH!!

2: An excellent learning tool, great price
For this low, low price you get a really great learning tool.
What I like best about these CDs is that they don't just give a list of words (which could be used as a sleep aid) but instead give you the word, its English meaning, and then use it in a sentence.
The sample sentence is not translated into English, but that's a good thing. I always tell people that talking and listening in English will never help you learn a foreign language. Drop English as soon as possible.
Also kudos to Anna Rivera; she sends out weekly e-mails with EXCELLENT study tips for Spanish. Of course she advertises products, but she never pushes you into buying them. The tips are free and very useful.

3: Review of 1,000 Most Powerful Spanish Words
I like this product for learning new vocabulary in Spanish. I plan on listening to it over and over again until I understand the 1,000 or more sentences without having to look at the transcript. And as someone already pointed out, the price of this product is great.

4: Beyond Boring
When I ordered this, I didn't know anything about Anna Rivera's products, just that she was highly regarded. This CD is just someone reading words in Spanish, in alphabetical order, and then translating them to English. Not something you want to listen to in the car when you're sleepy. Unless you're desperate to spend money, don't buy this. There are better CDs out there!

5: Another Anna Rivera product at a bargain price designed to teach lots of new vocabulary
Like many of the purchasers of this product, I took Amazon's advice, and ordered this product along with the other product by the same author. I think both products are excellent, especially for just a few bucks. I personally do not know of any product that's a Spanish-learning AUDIO product for under fourteen dollars. So at these prices, I must say Anna's products are truly a bargain.
Some people may be disappointed with the fact that they are not going to have enough time to repeat a line before the recorded speaker begins a new phrase. But if someone is using the product that way, I think that they are unfortunately missing out on the true value of this product.
This product was not designed to be a comprehensive self-study course. It is an audio phrase book. Nothing more and nothing less. The purpose is to increase your vocabulary and improve your listening comprehension. If I had purchased a phrase book (with no audio) that taught me 1000 new words for this price, it would have still been a bargain. But to also get an audio CD with it makes it an even greater buy for the price.
By the way, I am also a Spanish instructor and the next time one of my students asks me how to increase their vocabulary, I am going to recommend Anna Rivera's products. I also want to add that the author's reviews of various learning-Spanish products at Amazon have been lots of help for me in deciding which products to recommend to my students without me having to take the time personally to review the products.
