1: Great guidebook for those just starting out
I recommend "How to Become a Successful Commercial Model" to anyone starting out in this business. The author details every facet of commercial modeling, no matter how small, and does so in a very open and honest manner. He also provides lots of photographs and anecdotes from his personal experiences to better illustrate his points (which I really appreciated). This book resulted in my having more confidence about entering the world of modeling by educating me on the lingo (head shot, comp card, mini book, "go see") and practices (how to get photos taken economically, how agents want to be contacted, how to determine your different looks for your comp card) so I don't stand out as a newbie who hasn't done her homework. This book, combined with what I learned from the author's HowToModel.com website and from agency websites in my area, prepared me very well to start working in this business. Of course I will continue to learn more over time as I get jobs, but this book was an invaluable first stepping stone for me. Good luck!

2: Great resource!
I read this book in one sitting. Once I picked it up, I could not put it down. I wish I would have had this book when I began my career as a commercial talent. This book is a must have for models and agents alike, especially those in small/medium markets.

3: A Must Have Book If Pursuing Commercial Modeling
I've known Aaron Marcus for years since taking one of his workshops years ago, but hadn't pursued modeling for a long time, so I was thrilled to see he has a book on commercial modeling revised and now in it's 5th edition. It gets right to the point explaining what commercial modeling is, preparation, and resumes - to finding an agent and how to get work. I am an aspiring model, and this book has definitely been a great source to refer to for guidance in preparation for the industry of commercial modeling. This is definitely a book to be added to anyone's collection that is considering commercial modeling.

4: Very Helpful for a Modeling Career
My son is an aspiring model and actor. We attended a very informative class that featured Mr. Marcus. He covered a wealth of information on how to succeed as a professional model - things that it may have taken years for us to learn on our own. There was so much information that we felt that his book was a must. We refer to it often and recommend it highly.

5: Fantastic resource!
I would highly reccomend this book to anyone starting out in the commercial modeling industry. It is a must have as far as industry handbooks! I followed Aaron's advice and got all of my daughter's photo shoots and headshots done free of charge. This saved us a lot of money in building her portfolio and it also allowed her to gain experience as a model. As a result, the photographers have since used her for paying jobs and it helped pave the way for other commercial work. I would not have known how to go about this if it had not been for this book. Aaron was also extremely helpful in taking the time to answer all of my emails personally whenever I had further questions regarding how to create a resume, finding a good agent, model release forums, etc. We also had the opportunity to go to one of Aaron's seminars, which was fantastic! If you ever get the chance to go, I would highly reccomend it!! He has so much insight and knowledge about the industry.
Thanks for all of your help Aaron!
