1: Inconsistent
This book is a crazy mix of complicated/survivalist-type make-your-own frying pans and reflector ovens (out of sticks and tin foil!) and EXTREME basics such as how to make a hot dog -- along with a "suggested list" of hot dog toppings such as ketchup, mustard, and onions. Some recipes are really good and simple, some are ridiculous. I like it but some of the more obvious recipes are annoying.

2: ordinary recipes
Recipes are ordinary bordering on too simple. Really nothing amazing in the whole thing. I was very dissappointed. Perhaps for someone who has never cooked or camped before...

3: excellent guide
This is a great camping cookbook. Mine is tattered from use, and keeping it in my camp cooking toolbox, and maybe getting covered with dew from being left outdoors once. From snacks to main dishes to cooking techniques and supplies. What I like is she uses simple, easy clean-up techniques. (Don't like doing dishes much when camping). From healthy food, wild food to just plain stuff...no lectures. Kid friendly recipes too. If mine should get too tattered, I shall buy another.
