Customer Review:

1: Thief In the Night-Fabulous, life changing book!
Of all the books I have read in my life, this is the one that changed it the most! In the best way possible. Anyone willing to read it with an open mind, will have much to think about!

2: Thief in the Night
This is the book that led me to a nine year investigation of the Bahai Faith. My wife, my daughter and I eventually declared as Bahai's one year
after the 9-11 attacks.
As Catholics from birth, we were always taught to respect all religions.
The only question here is who is Baha'u'llah, and if He is who He claims to be, what is our responsibility to listen to Him?
Remember that Christ was not accepted by the religious
clergy of His day. In fact, only a handful of followers accepted Him
in the beginning. I challenge anyone to read this thoughtful book, and not come away with a desire to know more.

3: Very misleading!
On page 14 Mr. Sears wrote: "In the study of biblical prophecy, the period of time called a `day' becomes a `year' when calculating the passing of time:
1. This theory was supported by the following prophecies.
A. Numbers 14:34. `Even forty days, each day for a year.'
B. Ezekiel 4:6. `I have appointed thee each day for a year.'"

Let's read each verse in its entirety. Numbers 14:34 reads, "After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise." What this verse is actually saying is that Israel will wander the desert for forty years for the forty days that the spies spied out the Promised Land.
Ezekiel 4:6 reads, "And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year." Here Israel was to suffer for forty years and God signified this by having Ezekiel lay on his right side for forty days. As we can clearly see these verses are not giving some mystical dating system but specifically refers to specific usages and not for what Mr. Sears may think. Mr. Sears must employ this rather unique interpretation to support his contention that 1844 was the year prophesied as the annunciation of the returning messiah who went by the name of Baha'u'llah. But as anyone can see these verses fail to support Mr. Sears' dating. The reasons for Mr. Sears choosing 1844 are lengthy so I will not go into them here.
The name of this new messiah, named "Baha'u'llah", is rather an unfortunate choice for him and his followers since it supposedly means "Glory of God" but we read in Isaiah 42:8, "I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another" and the prophet writes very much the same thing in 48:11. As we see the name "Glory of God" cannot possibly be his name since God Himself states that He did not and will not give His glory to anyone else.
Many more such examples can be given but these are examples are what one finds throughout this book. As I was continued reading I could not escape the belief that in order to construct such very questionable proofs for this new supposed "messiah" Mr. Sears was taking liberties with the Bible that he should not have nor could I escape the belief that Mr. Sears was being disingenuous when he wrote his book. He went to great lengths to try and establish a biblical foundation for this supposed messiah's claim but as we can plainly see even a cursory examination of the so-called proofs fails to support Mr. Sears claims.

4: VERY ENLIGHTENING
It all make sense now...that the Divine Revelation is a continuous and progressive process; that all the great religions of the world are divine in origin; and that their missions represent successive stages in the spiritual evolution of human society.

No wonder the Baha'i writings also provide specific guidance that help us fulfill the basic purpose of human life--knowing and worshiping God and carrying forward an ever-advancing civilization--while striving to bring about the unity of mankind, world peace, and world order.

5: test your belief and knowledge of the bible.
If you're thrilled from watching detectives solve mysterious cases decades after the crime was committted, this a must read story. You will actually feel like a detective in the course of reading this book and it will rock your soul in a way that you never expected leaving you with nothing but shock and awe. Even if you don't believe in the outcome of the story, your manner of expectation of Jesus return will never be the same till you part this physical world. You have to be courageous to read this book to the end because of significant fear of your faith wavering at the end of the story. William sears present you with information and facts that place you in a position where the only way to deny his story is to deny or doubt your own bible. It is very very challenging.
