1: This is THE book
In my path to becoming a master herbalist with a specialty in womens health I have gone over many herbalism books and this is arguably the best. Covers all aspect of a womans life time, is easy to read and understand, and unlike so many other herbalism books is easy to refrence back to time and again.

2: A Jewel !!!!
This is a keeper !!! For me this is a manual on women's health. Every time I feel out of ease I consult it and it has never let me down. I have had it for 14 years now and have gone through two natural child births. Thank you for this wonderful jewel.

3: Rosemary is the Goddess of Herbalism
Rosemary's aproach is simple, yet passionate in a quiet and joyful way.
Her writing style is engaging. Nothing too difficult or unusual with Rosemary. She uses very accessible herbs and recipes for health.
I have referenced this book so many times over the years it is coming apart and may be time for a new one:)
Rosemary's pioneering of the herbal movement is greatly appreciated by those of us following the path.

4: another great Rosemary Gladstar book
I just got this book, and I purchased herbs and am ready to make my first set of tea pills! Not only is this fun, it's healthy. I am a BIG believer in alternative and more natural medicines (I am currently studying Oriental Medicine) and find this a way that everybody can help their health in a gentle and historic way. This is how our grandmothers did things! And I appreciate Ms Gladstar preserving these recipes for us.
In herbal and Oriental Medicine, conditions like PMS and problematic menstruation are related to the liver. The liver and thyroid are closely linked, and many women today are experiencing problems with thyroid. Ms. Gladstar has some lovely endocrine (the endocrine system includes the thyroid) and liver teas. She 'knows her stuff' and gives wonderful advice on using the herbal formulas.
Excellent book! I only gave it four stars because I don't know how accessible getting herbs will be for everyone (ordering online or living close enough to purchase them at a specialty shop) and if people will take the time to do it. If you do, this is a five star plus book!

5: a very good resource
I borrowed this book from a friend hoping to find a remedy for PCOS as I am trying to help a friend research natural approaches to dealing with it. After reviewing this book, I ordered my own copy. It has lots of wonderful information about many women's health issue, though not PCOS. I recommend it for anyone interested in women's health from a natural approach. I didn't give it 5 stars only because I think it needs to be updated. Apparently it hasn't been since 1993. After all, PCOS is amazingly common and its not even mentioned in this book.
