Customer Review:

1: The Truth. Finally!!!!!!!
Finally a book that takes all of what we are supposed to be sheltered from and it brings out the truth through the Gnostic Gospels. What a breath of fresh air. Finally we have the truth laid out in front of us and I do wonder how many realize it as the truth and will act upon it. If for nothing else read the appendix and the tenets of Sylvia Browne's religion. They are the real truth about what we have come to call religion. Although it may rock your boat, maybe some people need to have their boat rocked, tipped over and be saved by this wonderful truthful work.

2: Amazing!
This one really makes you ponder. I'm convinced it's true! I'll bet all those missing books of the Bible that are in the Vatican would corraborate this book. You'll have to buy it to find out what I'm talking about. An excellant reading!

3: Finally a book about the two Mary's that cuts through religious dogma
I originally bought this book as a Christmas present for a very good friend of mine and when she was finished reading the book she loaned it to me. Both of us throughly enjoyed the book, and found it even better then Sylvia's book about the Mystical Life of Jesus. I have since returned the book and decided that I must have a copy for myself. While I had the book I tried to read a 2 or 3 pages a day, but often found myself reading 20 or 30 pages and staying up well past my bedtime.

I was brought up in the Mormon religion, and the topic of both Mary's was not talked about. However, my Catholic friends would tell me that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute that Jesus rescued. During the late 70s one catholic girl I knew even told me that "since Magdalene was a slut, so am I." So I found it interesting and enjoyable that Sylvia Browne contradicted that, and it was only in the last few months that I even heard the Pope changed his mind about Magdalene, and to be honest I never really paid him much attention.

Concerning Jesus mother Mary their is very little information in the bible on her, and even less on his earthly father Joseph. So I really did enjoy reading on her especially given her prominence in the history of the books of the bible.

During the time of Jesus there is much that modern man knows nothing about, so it is refreshing that someone can bring forth new information about the people at this time in mankind's development and especially the two women most involved with Jesus.

I believe that the Books of the Bible is written by man to control man, and that God has placed nuggets of truth through out the books of the bible. I highly recommend The Two Mary's to everyone. Even if you do not agree with what Sylvia Browne writes you still need to question your biblical beliefs to the extreme and then put them back together again, because that is how you grow mentally and spiritually.

4: The Two Marys by Sylvia Browne
I was a little disappointed with this book. The subject matter was fascinating but there was too much repetition that seemed to simply pad the book out. The whole book could have been written in about 3 chapters.

5: Finally setting the record straight
This was SO reminiscent of Kathleen McGowan's `The Expected One' right down to declaring having had visions of Magdalene's life that helped her write it. I guess Magdalene is pretty insistent the facts be set straight...all those revelations. I enjoy Sylvia's description of the book: a love story. And it certainly is. It tells of Jesus' love for his wife, Magdalene, and Mary's love of her as daughter-in-law. Biblical scholars may not agree - such is their right. Personally I thought it was a wonderful depiction and a great attempt at putting straight centuries of horribly negative interpretation of a loving wife and mother.
