1: Not My Cup of Blood....
I'm amazed by all the good reviews of this book. I could barely make it through the first 10 pages before I abandoned it. I found it derivative, immature, and cold, like a violent video game someone wrote out into text. The author is determined to tell a ripping yarn, and I'm all for that, but she appears to think that describing how Jane Y. looks in leather pants is the same thing as creating character development. A tough-as-nails heroine is only interesting to me if she is being tough for a sympathetic reason, and nothing about the rather narcissistic writing style of this book persuaded me to stick around long enough to find out. Sorry, I do like to try new authors, but this one was just not my cup of blood....

I own the ebook Kindle version. I've read SciFi/Fantasy/ Zombies/Vamps/ U-name-it since I came across the Chronicles of Narnia in 1985. This is a great story. I like how the whole viewpoint is hunter-related: we see only what is of interest to Jane. That's the whole point of a 1st Person story. Great action, I could get into the flow and colors of everything. Loved it.
No editing problems, from what I could see, in the eBook version; I wonder if those that had "problems" with "editing" were more concerned with writing style and character voice/portrayal. If you don't like 1st Person quirkiness, don't read 1st Person books. And this book uses 1st Person excellently....

3: Fabulous!
My best friend purchased this for me for my birthday and am I pleased! 6 foot, Native American woman with a personality. I've always griped about the female leads in paranormal books always seeming so boring (with the exception of Hunter Kiss) But Jane is not! She has humor, flare and also knows how to have a good time. I don't want to give anything away but she is definitely different from a lot of the female heroine's out there right now. She's at the top of the pile.
Another bonus ... NO ANNOYING SEX SCENES ... Just action and story!
Love the style of writing. The style changes when she changes and the way its woven in is absolutely wonderful. You'll love it, BUY IT! I'm starting book 2 right now.

4: Good solid story
I enjoyed this book and loved the second even better. The main character is interesting and I like the way the author chose to give Jane's Beast a voice and a personality of her own.
There's not much I can say that hasn't already been more eloquently put, but I will add that if you are the type that doesn't like sex in your books, then this would be a good choice for you.
I recommended this series to my neice for that reason, because she doesn't like sex scenes as much as her pervy aunt does. :)

5: Great new series....can't wait for book 3!
I loved this book, you will not regret buying it, unless you dislike complex strong heroines, or need overt romance. This is not a romance book and does not have a HEA ending, but it is good and compelling storytelling.
