Customer Review:

1: Without Bolitar, gotta be a three
Coben can write. No issue with his talent. But, this is his weakest effort to date. When he strays from Myron Bolitar, the stories seem a bit contrived and the characters not nearly as interesting. While this book moves along at a good clip, I didn't care as much what happened to the protagonists. If you want to read Coben, there are much better reads in his catalog. Still, I gotta give him a three just for the quality of his prose.

2: A twisted path through dark family histories
Coben takes us on a spin! Twenty years ago, Paul Copeland, now a county prosecutor, was 'witness' to a multiple slaying. One of the victims was his sister, although hers was one of the bodies never recovered from the vast dense woods.
Coben writes a taut tale with threads going back generations. Multiple plot lines keep the reader entranced. There are pieces the reader can figure out before the book takes the reader there, but watch out, new evidence keeps appearing.
A good read for a vacation, daily commute or just pure entertainment.

3: lots of twists but very captivating
Clever writer. Knows how to keep us on our toes and keep our attention. Not sure about his series, have not read those. I hope they are as good as this one and Gone for Good.

4: Incredible! Interesting! and Inventive!
WARNING: This book may cause you to lose sleep, ignore your responsibilities, and slack off at work until you finish it. "The Woods" was impossible to put down. It was one of those books that you just had to know what happens and you can't wait to find out. The story of Paul Copeland and the mysteries that he solves will make you feel like you're right there with him, you'll be theorizing and guessing about what you think happened. This book was incredible! I would highly recommend it!

5: The best Harlan Coben book yet
I've read every book by Harlan Coben & this one is hands down the best one written. The story line keeps you from wanting to put it down and the characters are detailed & believeable. I love the sarcasm in this book & highly recommend the audio book version as well. The reader, Scott Brick, has an excellent voice & really makes the story pop.
