Faced paced these stories, keep the reader glued to the pages, dying to see how the Callahan brothers finally get their women defeat the villian. 2: Off to a Great Start
I had read this book when it first came out and then forgot about it. Well, I then purchased Never Say Never and Always Look twice. Well, I re-read it before I started the other two. Am I glad I did as it was good enough for a re-read. Luke and Maddie were a great couple just enough humor and realitiy mixed in. There was enough of a mystery to keep you entertained while still focusing on the romance. I would have liked a little stronger ending however from our hero. I felt that Maddie did all of the risking while Luke got off a little too easy. I am looking forward to starting the next in the series. Never Say Never

3: Good enough that I bought the next book
Give Him The Slip is the type of light romantic suspense I enjoy when I want to take a break from military or erotic romance. I had this book in my TBR pile since last year but some not-so-good reviews made me give it a pass in favor of other titles. Then I read a synopsis of the second title, Never Say Never, thought it sounded just what I enjoy and bought it. It was only then that I found out Give Him the Slip was the first book so naturally, I read it first.

And I did not regret it one bit. Maddie isn't all that spoilt despite the reader being led to think she is, at first. From a pampered background yes, but not dumb and spoilt. We soon realize that impression is more from the media portrayal than reality. Dawson heroines are definitely not Karen Rose-type heroines but they are nowhere as annoying and TSTL as some other romance authors'.

Maddie finds herself in a spot of trouble and an ex-client sends her to a DEA agent for help whom she thinks is a woman (she has one of those masculine-feminine names). Tired from her traveling, Maddie fell asleep in the agent's boat while waiting for her return. Of course, the DEA agent turns out to be very male, very sexy and very annoyed at finding this unwanted stowaway on his boat.

The ensuing banter and burgeoning attraction is fun to follow though I didn't quite get Luke's relationship with his father. I thought there was some genuine bad blood between them like abuse but it isn't that at all. This love-hate relationship does get resolved in the end...well, as good as such things can be, and Maddie gets a fitting HEA with the irresistible Sin.

If you enjoy light romantic suspense, don't miss this one. It isn't nail-biting suspense with graphic sex scenes (which I do enjoy!) but for its type of book, Give Him The Slip is very enjoyable and I'm glad I saved it from my Send-To-UBS pile without even reading it.

I'm on page one of Never Say Never, Matt Callahan's book. Knowing my predilection for agents, spies and military heroes, I should like Matt's story even more.

4: Great start to a new series!
This is the first book in the series of the Callahan brothers and tells the story of Luke Callahan - nicknamed "Sin" when he was a bad boy in his hometown of Brazos Bend Texas - and Maddie Kincaid, the daughter of a rock star who just wants to live a normal life.

But a normal life eludes Maddie. Though she's started her own cleaning business in small town Brazos Bend, a startling discovery while cleaning a house prompts her to look for help. On the advice of one of her clients, Branch Callahan, she travels with her goldfish Oscar, to find Terry Winston. Little does she know that Branch Callahan has his own reasons for giving her the wrong information and instead sends her to his estranged son, Luke Callahan.

The last thing DEA agent Luke Callahan wants to do is to help anyone - he wants to fish and recover from his battle wounds from his last mission. But he can't resist helping Maddie, and soon, he finds himself back in Brazos Bend, a place he vowed never to return.

This is a fun romp, easy reading, believable conversation with just the right blend of suspense and romance. Luke is my kind of hero - a gorgeous somewhat alpha male, who's fighting his feelings for Maddie. Sigh...he can make bananas foster for my dessert any time!

Yes there are some crazy characters, but not so crazy that they seem over the top or unrealistic. And Maddie does some wild stuff (I mean, how many people travel with their goldfish?) but again, it's not so over the top that it ruins her character or the book.

This is my first book by Geralyn Dawson and won't be my last. I liked the characters and the story - just the right blend of romance and suspense. My only complaint? Too much time until the next book - Matt's story doesn't come out until October 2007 - I can't wait that long!

5: wonderfully romantic Holy Terror of Texas thriller
Needing to start over reformed hedonistic bad girl Maddie Kincaid moves to Brazos Bend, Texas and opens up a senior citizen care taker business. She quickly makes friends with townsfolk especially clients and feels good about her life.

However, a simple cleaning job goes awry forcing her to flee to Louisiana for her life accompanied by stoic Oscar the goldfish as they seek her friend Terry Winston at a marina. Unable to find her friend, she hides on the boat the Miss Behavin' II, owned by a card carrying member of the Holy Terrors of Brazos Bend, Luke "Sin" Callahan. A retired DEA Agent, Sin plans to sail into the sunset until he discovers his beautiful stowaway. She pleads for his help, which he reluctantly agrees to give, but will do so while adhering to his vow to avoid taking one step into Brazos Bend. However, he soon finds he cannot help but be her hero as they fall in love while the danger mounts.

The fun in this filed with twists romantic suspense thriller is the eccentric support cast who add vigor to an already electrifying story line starring two delightful former "bad" guy and gal. Whereas Sin and Maddie are a wonderful pairing, his siblings (talk about false advertising - Matthew, Mark and John), her customers, Oscar the goldfish and Dairy Princess owner Kathy add local flavor. The real bad dudes are dangerous, but Geralyn Dawson combines humor with suspense to provide her fans with a wonderfully romantic Holy Terror of Texas thriller.
