1: Not my favorite.....
I'm just not a fan of those "I don't know you but I will check my conscience at the door and sleep with you the first time we meet" stories...... with Passion by Lisa Valdez being the exception to that rule. This story wasn't quite as convincing.
I liked the first book in the series, and I was anxious to read Beatrice's story. It was a bit of a disappointment. I'm okay with a "younger man" premise, but this one just didn't sit well. I didn't like the way these two met, the part Beatrice's niece and sister played in the plot, or the chemistry between these two people. I did appreciate that there was no murder or mayhem and that Candace Hern sticks to the basics.
I'm hoping for a better final book in "Lady Be Bad". If you're looking for chemistry... the first book of this trilogy "In the Thrill of the Night" has plenty!

2: A delight!
This book grabbed me with its incredibly sensual beginning, and never let go. The Indian elements enriched what was an already lush read. I can't wait to get to the other books in the series!

3: A wonderful read
I really enjoyed this book. Lord Thayne and Lady Beatrice are characters you can't dislike. The story flowed and the writing was superb. The only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars is because I missed passion in the character's emotions. Not that they lacked it in bed. But they felt a bit lukewarm. Nice people. I didn't bleed for them. All in all, good read.

4: Great read!
I really enjoyed this book. I understand why some reviewers thought it was just okay. The "desperate for sex widows" theme has been done to death lately, as was the "younger man falling for the older woman".
I liked the book because the characters were totally believable and sensitive. It felt real, like a story that could happen to a woman who has lost her husband and hasn't given up on life yet.
The other widows were also interesting. I can't wait to read the story of the prudish widow and the rake.
