1: Jackaroo is a Great Read
Gwyn is a practical girl and a hard worker the daughter of a well-off innkeeper. She deals with her mother's harsh toungue and her spoiled younger brother, and finds companionship with the family servant Burl.
She is troubled though by her family's prosperity in the face of dark times for her land. Taxes are higher, there is unrest in the south, people depend on the cold charity of the earl's doling rooms to stay alive through the harsh winters, and thieves begin to steal what little people have. She dismisses the stories of the mythical "Jackaroo" is a legend cherished by people who have little else.
One day however, a mysterious lord and his son visit her family's inn. Eventually she and Burl travel with the lords who claim to be making maps. Lost in a blizzard, Gwyn takes up shelter with the Lordling and the two make an unlikely friendship while waiting for the snows to melt, and Gwyn discovers Jackaroo may not be just the stuff of legends.
Returning home she immediately realizes that she has been blind to much concerning herself, her family, The Kingdom, and the miserable state of affairs. She takes up the mantle of Jackaroo in order to help others and see justice done. Gwyn gains much from it, but she doesn't realize that it may also come at a great cost.
This is an outstanding book. If you like this one you may also like, On Fortune's Wheel which takes place two generations later!

3: Jackaroo the Review
Jackaroo is a very well written book.It is interesting and exciting!!It is obvious that Cynthia, the author, spent a lot of time and energy on small details. These small detais help paint a clear picture of what is happening in the story while reading it.This book is wonderful!!I can't wait to read On fortunes Wheel. It has to be more interesting than Jackaroo, because Jackaroo leaves you hanging in the end when the Earl tries to marry the innkeepers daughter. but still I could read this book over and over & not get tired of it.It tells you alot about life & culture in the middle ages.If you what a good book to read I would really reomend this book!!

The book Jackaroo was a very good book.It was unpredictable. You never knew what was going to happen. The teacher Mrs.Capps always included the class.Although at some points I did not like it.The worst part was when people was trying to be Jackaroo. These are my thoughts about jackaroo.

5: A must read
I read this book after I read On Fortune's Wheel and it made understand a lot better some details of the book, of course it is meant to be read prior to OFW. The book is great. If you love fantasy, adventure and a bit of romance, read this book.
