1: Laugh-out-loud funny
What a great book for girls who are going through the same dilemmas as Alice. Naylor gets it spot on - Alice is realistic, likable, and the predicaments she gets into are often hilarious. I definitely recommend this one.

2: reluctantly alice
This book is so awesome you will never want to put it down. This girl can't sing, her mom died, and she has a bully being mean and doing everything to be cruel. But for some reason she picked her for a paterner. Can you belive that the gril chose the bully when she could of picked someone else. You will love this book trust me.

3: Great!
This is the greatest book ever. It's helping me deal with entering junior high next year. All girls face the same things Alice does, and she deals with it in the most realistic way. I've went on to read more than half the series.

4: A solid Alice book
Alice enters seventh grade (and junior high) in this book.
The standout event is Alice dealing with a bully at school. I appreciated the way her family supported her while realizing that adult suggestions that sound good on paper are not necessarily right or realistic for kids. In the end, Alice's dad's prediction comes true and there's a moment when Alice knows what to do to turn things around. She couldn't have known ahead of time, but she does the right thing with her heart pounding. It was a moment we've all known, and one I haven't seen much in books.
There's enough fill-in information so that you could read this book without knowing the rest of the series, yet not so much that it's annoying if you HAVE read the rest of the series. Alice's friends Pam and Elizabeth are along for the ride without many serious problems of their own, unlike some of the other Alice books: this one is mostly about her family and being at school.

5: Pretty darn good!
Pretty yowzing, is all I can see. This is a superb continuation of the Alice saga and the characters that were starting to just peep out of the pages in the previous two stories, really start to jump out and scream in this one. I love this book. I identify with all the charcters, espechially Elizabeth and Pamela and Alice. There is a lot more talk of sex in this book, so only present this book to a child if you know they can handle words like "testicles" and "ejactulation," and "vagina," among a few others. I recomend this extriodanary book to any middle school girl who wants to laugh, giggle, blush, scream in rage, jubilation and disgust...if they can handle it.BLESSED BE!!
