Runt is a very good book about 5 wolf pups born deep in the Minnesota woods; leader, Runner, Sniffer, Thinker, and Runt. Runt's father is very disappointed in Runt even though Runt looks just like him. As the name suggests, Runt is the runt of the group and struggles to survive even from the start. You will never believe the ending to this great book.
I highly recommend this book to people who like vivid books. This book has sad moments, happy moments, and a little suspense. This book has everything a good book needs. This book is on you can't seem to put down. If you don't like animals, well you probably won't like this book, but if you do like animals then you absolutely love this book. This book is so good I read it 3 times.

2: I Hope theirs a sequel
I bought the book online-unaware that the novel was a "novel" for a a child in grade 3. Anyways,despite being rather short, the author writes considerably well and descriptive without it getting boring. The storyline is cute and kept me reading to find out what happens to small little runt. This book explores the wolf`s world in a Bambi/Disney style of talking animals intertwined with human beings. It describes the life of a wolf rather well minus the fact that there is one major flaw: the author makes the alpha male the leader when it is in fact the alpha female. other than that, the book is a great intro to the animal world for children. I can easily see it being adapted by Disney for a film.

3: The amazing adventure of a wolf pup named RUNT!!!!!!
The story of Runt takes place in the woods where a mother wolf has four pups but then a fifth is born.Their names are Leader,Sniffer,Runner,Thinker,and Runt.It's a very tragic story because two out of the five pups die.Runt is always getting himself into mischiouf,and troubel.He causes his father a lot of griffe,and he wants to make his own father really,really,and truly proud.It is a really great book. You will proabibly like it.It is for ages 7 to adults.

4: A Great Book
This book is very well written, and even though the wolves can talk, the book still keeps to the basics of realistic wolves.
Runt is rather pathetic, but of course, he keeps trying. I just think that it might be too extreme to have Thinker die BECAUSE of Runt, though.
This is a great book and an enjoyable read for young people. I highly recommend it.

5: great book
Runt is a magical book about survival and about finding your place within the pack. Runt is the smallest of his litter and no one in the pack thought that he could make it. He is rejected by many of the wolves in the pack and is usually a loner. The only one that is really there for him is his mom aand even his dad has doubts abouit him. Runt gets into alot of trouble through out the story and is even the cause of his brother dying. But in the end he proves everyone that even though he's the little guy, he can do everything and anything that all of the other wolves can do.
