1: Tiresome
This book was good but not as good as some of Stephanie Mittman's other works. The main characters become annoying. They refuse to communitcate with each other, leading to a string of misconceptions that almost tear them apart. There was plenty other things in the story that could have brough tension to the relationship (He steps in at the last minute to marry his best friends girl to save her from the embarrassment of being left at the alter and being pregnant). Most of the tension however is brought on by themselves. They have very low self-esteem and therefore never believes the other when they get a compliment. Instead its "He/she must have meant this instead...". The ending of the book is good and there are some funny moments but overall I found it tiresome. For a better Mittman book try A Heart Full of Miracles.

2: Best romance I've ever read!
I just finished reading A KISS TO DREAM ON and want to thank Stephanie Mittman for such a delightful book. I laughed; I cried; I wanted to see the movie. But I especially wanted to thank her for the best romance I've ever read--and by all accounts that's over 10,000 at this point--42 years of serious addiction to American love stories, and A KISS tops them all! I couldn't wait to get to the bookstore and search out others by this engaging author.

3: One of the best books I've read this year - definite Keeper!
I finally treated myself to reading A Kiss to Dream On... and I've been telling the discussion group I'm in what a wonderful, excellent book it is!!! I LOVED it! And now, when I tuck my son in, I've been giving him one extra kiss (which he doesn't seem to mind, even if he is now 9 years old!) and telling him that this is "a kiss to dream on".What a beautiful story, and so well written! If you haven't read Ms Mittman, go out right now and get this book. A lovely love story

4: Fabulous!
I am always thrilled when I come upon an author that I have not yet read and discover that she is WONDERFUL. Mittman makes her characters full, real and deep. She has a knack for avoiding the trap of making every situation and every character too perfect. She creates characters that you cheer for even knowing their flaws. Can't wait to pick up another one of her books.

5: A MUST READ!!!
My copy of this book is peppered with marginal notes, highlights, and underlines. They offer support to my belief that Stephanie Mittman is a master writer of the 20th century. Her genius, I think, lies in her stingy use of words. With them, she paints vivid pictures, evokes strong feelings and exposes the humaness within us all. That, fellow readers, makes for more than "historical romance," it's literature at its best.
