1: Words fail me.
Not That I Care, Morgan's Story by Rachel Vail is one of my favorite books of all time.

I bought the entire set as they came out when I was in 6th grade or so, and I (stupidly) lended this one (MY FAVORITE) to a friend in the 7th grade. Needless to say, I never. got. it. back.

So apparently this book is out of print and I can NEVER find it anywhere, so when I saw this special edition thing just now I flipped a ****. I am so excited to get this book you don't even know. I haven't read it since the SEVENTH GRADE (I'm a sophomore in college now) and there are many aspects of the book that I think about all the time. The way this particular book is structured, with the 10 items in Morgan's bag is very well done, in my opinion, and it lets us meet Morgan.

This series, actually was the most accurately written one on pre-teens I suppose that I have ever read. The characters are just mean enough, but not over the top mean like in so many "girls in school" books these days. (don't get me wrong, I LOVE those, but I found these more "realistic"). The main point I thought Rachel Vail hit that surprisingly not many teen girl dramas do, is the misunderstandings that are usually at the root of all arguments. A perfect example of this that doesn't give away any plot:

It might be slightly off, I did read it a LONG time ago.
Morgan calls CJ and they do the math homework together over the phone. When you hear Morgan's side, you know that she's actually already done it, and that she loves math and doesn't need any help on it at all. She just called CJ because she wanted to talk.
Then Morgan calls Zoe and does the same thing. This all seems normal until Zoe and CJ talk to each other and realize that Morgan did the homework with both of them, which seems REALLY weird from their point of view, but you understand why Morgan did it. She just wanted a reason to call both of them.

ahhhhhh. Just reminiscing on it makes me giddy.

P.S. The chapter with the cherry tree is number 3 on my favorite chapters ever in life, after "How to tell a true war story" in "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien and "The Only One He Ever Feared" in "HP and the Order of the Phoenix"

I have no idea why anyone would think to buy this book if they haven't already read it, since it's practically impossible to find, but if you get the chance, buy it. and if you hate it, contact me, and I'll buy the book from you at full price. That's how much I LOVE IT!

(I just reread this, and I sound crazy, but it's just that good.)

2: A Splendiferous Series
The Friendship Ring books are very well-written, and are fun to read. The charecters are sooo different, which proves that opposites attract. Theres the mousy Prima Ballerina with the over-protective mother (thats CJ), theres the super jock who has too many sisters and wants everyone to like her and has a huge crush on her backdoorn neigbor (thats Zoe), theres the rebelious, moody girl witht he dead beat dad who thinks jacks are a great gift (thats Morgan), and the little geek-ish girl with the crowded teeth and major hottie of a brother (thats Olivia). All these 7th graders at Boggs middle school are friends (most of the time) despite their differenses. They go threw just about everything you would expect them to. If i were you i would read them. Also, the book about tommy (Fill in the Blank) is a good read. It lets you know the guys side.

3: Good writing
I think this book is exceptionaly writen by an incredible author. I love how you can see Morgans view of things that have happened in previous books.

4: This book and the rest of this seris are the best ever!
This seris was the best I have ever read. I have read all of them exept for the one by Oliva because that one wasn't at the Library. These books are realistic, and it makes you feel like you are really in the book experiencing everything that happens to the characters. Also, you read a story written by one girl and then she is mentioned in all the other books with a different view point. I loved it and recommend it alot

5: Really Good!
This was the first book I read in the series and one of the best. Morgan seems very vonerable and I can see why she acts the way she does. {*5*}! In the other books she's totally different, rough and tough. I liked her character best in Not That I Care. I liked that she told about her life so far and about her parents breaking up. You should read this book.
