1: Excellent!
I absolutely loved this book! I couldn't put it down once I started reading it! It is a great story with a fascinating twist that will leave you shocked. A must read.

I am a usually a big fan of Nicholas Sparks but I have to say that I was disappointed with this one. My main complaint is that this story was SO predictable. Still worth reading but far from his best work.

Great romance story! I love how Sparks is able to make you feel the characters emotions through his words! I would definitely recommend this book!

4: Good story, dumb protagonist
Good heartwarming story in true Nicholas Sparks fashion. Good descriptions of small town New Bern, NC with the use of actual restaraunts, businesses, and place names. In an odd coincidence,I was actually travelling in New Bern during the latter half of my reading this book, and it was nice that I could recognize some of the settings from this book based upon Sparks' descriptions.
This is the story of a man, Miles, who's wife died two years previous from when this novel starts in a hit and run accident, and his obsessvie life's quest to find out who killed her. Along the way, he meet's the beautiful, new to New Bern, Sarah. Sarah is the teacher for Miles' only son, Jonah. They meet, fall in love, and then find out that Sarah is somehow associated with Miles' wife's death. Though, Sarah does not know it. The person who did do it was a surprise.
My only complaint about the book is that this was one of the rare occasions where I thought that the protagonist, Miles, wasn't as intelligent as the people around him. Especially when the drama started to unfold, and he made some, in my opinion, dumb decisions. That's all that I'll say without giving away much of the story.

Tragedy and death show itself a lot in this book. Miles whose wife was killed in a hit-and-run accident struggles to make him and his son Jonah's life back to normal. They have not found the killer of Missy but Miles really wants to.
Everything changes one day when he meats Jonah's new teacher. Miles and Sarah (the new teacher) start seeing a lot of each other and Miles becomes unsure about his feelings for Missy's death.
This book is really interesting and was hard to put down because of the mystery and tragedy. Nicholas Sparks's words are incredible. When he writes, you actually feel like the character and you're feeling the same things they do. This book made me want to cry so many times because of the death and pain.
I recommend this book to anyone and everyone. You'll feel like your heart is going to rip in half. After you read this book you will love his writing like I do.
