1: Shadow Music
Fantastic book, I read it in 3 hours, could not put it down. This author is one of my favorites and continues to do great work. I cannot wait for her next historical novel. Diane D.

2: Terribly Disappointed!
As a person that reads reviews to help determine whether I should purchase a book or not, I had to write a review on this particular novel by Julie Garwood. I agree with other reviewers that suggest checking the book out from the library or borrowing the book from someone else would be a good idea. This was a great disappointment to me after having such high expectations after Ransom. There wasn't a lot of chemistry between the lead characters. As someone else mentioned, it took too long for them to become a couple. It is a "romance" novel, and Ms. Garwood usually has romantic moments between the couple pretty early on. This is not the case in Shadow Music. I was also very disappointed with Brodick's part in the book. I was hoping there would be more interaction so that we would know how he and Gillian were faring as a couple. I was even hoping to find out about Ramsey and Bridgid. The Secret and, especially, Ransom were so good that I couldn't believe what a let down Shadow Music has been.

3: shadow music
You have to care about the characters, or you don't care what happens to them. And, you need a good story. This book has none of that. Nothing. It does not get your attention at all. I relied on authors long ago romances (which after reading Twilight are not romances to me anymore, just used to be good adventure stories with soft porn by comparison)Boring.Rambling, Uncohesive.Pointless.Not a single good thing about it.

4: Could have been so much better!
This book wasn't bad, it was just okay. I got a bit impatient that the hero/heroine did not meet until after page 100. That is way too long in a book 400 pages. Once they do meet it picks up a bit and I did like the hero Colm. Gabrielle was a bit boring. She had no personality quirks that make characters interesting...she was just beautiful and nothing much else. The one interesting part was that she was a good shot with a bow and arrow and knew how to take care of herself but the author doesn't do anything with this...I think you could have put the heroine in a lot more interesting situations. It's not her best book by far, but it's okay to read on a Sunday afternoon when you have nothing else to do.

5: Enjoyed
It's been a while since I picked up a book from Ms. Garwood and I really enjoyed the Princess's story. I thought Ms. Garwood did a great job pulling the plot and story together, I would love to hear the stories of her guards...
