1: Great coverage of interest groups in the US This book does a great job of describing the interest group communities in the United States. The author effectively discussing how interest groups are formed and their most (and least) successful strategies in lobbying all three branches. It was not only intellectually provocative, but also compelling as leisure reading. Enjoy!

There has been a large increase in the number of interest groups in the past three decades. The book explains the types of interest groups and why people join them. It gives a good explanation of lobbyist and the role they play in the political spectrum.
