1: Best Guide for the D60
Based on the advice of a friend at a local camera store (where I tried out the D60) I also bought this guide when I purchased the D60 from Amazon.
The D60 factory manual is hard to read, poorly illustrated and poorly organized with the need to jump back and forth too often when reviewing features.
The Hilz guide is well organized, easy to read with excellent illustrations. It is not only a great guide for the D60 but also an excellent beginners guide to digital photography. The quick start section will get you up and photographing immediately while the rest of the book will walk you step by step thru the camera's many modes and features.

2: Nikon D60 Focal Digital Camera Guide
I thought this was a great book to introduce a person to the digital SLR. I liked how the book had the Visual Tour of the camera, Quick Start and How to get good images out of the camera in 5 minutes at the beginning of the book. It was all the information you needed without having to read the manual that comes with the camera, which is always more difficult to understand. Great use of examples and simple verbiage that anyone could follow along. And if someone wanted to know more indepth how to use the camera they can find the information in the rest of the book! Explains basic lighting, lenses, software and even composition of the subjects so anyone can take a better photograph.

3: Very Helpful Intro to DSLR
Great explanation of features, but not just technical. Since the author is a professional photographer, he demonstrates the features and applies his personal experience with the camera. Recommended for all newcomers in the DSLR world who just purchased the D60.

4: METICULOUS - CLEARCUT - EASY TO UNDERSTAND
Corey Hilz is rapidly attaining the rank of outstanding North American nature photographer. A quick review of his blog will quickly show you the excellence of his photography. Corey also teaches photography and his warm, personable style and easy to understand lessons help his students master somewhat complex issues quickly and comfortably. As a Nikon user it is only logical that he would write a really outstanding and fully understandable book about the new Nikon D-60 DSLR.

5: Nikon D60 Guide Covers All The Bases
Buying a digital SLR can intimidate even the most experienced photographers. Digital cameras, and particularly SLRs, open up a whole new world of image manipulation and camera capabilities.
Corey Hilz's Nikon D60 book has become an important addition to my collection as I try to learn more and more about my new Nikon D60. Not only does the book cover the camera's buttons and menus, but it also delves into photography techniques. I'm a visual learner, and the side-by-side pictures demonstrating the differences in an identical shot with a slightly different setting really help me understand my camera. It gets easier to imagine exactly how my picture will turn out before I shoot it. The guide is also easy to reference and skim. Small tips and warnings stand out from the text so I don't miss anything.
Overall, I've found this book extremely valuable as a Nikon D60 owner. The full-color photographs and wide variety of information make this guide a must-have carry-along as I shoot pictures with my D60.
